Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced its sponsorship of the Super Cup match between the Kuwait and Al-Arabi Sporting Clubs that was held at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. The sponsorship falls in line with stc’s strategic role in supporting the local sports scene in all aspects and the activities of the Kuwait Football Association in particular as part of stc’s strategic partnership over the last 8 years.
Prior to the match and in line with stc’s continuous role to support sports and younger generations, Engineer Maziad Alharbi, CEO of stc, along with Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, Hamoud Flaiteh Al-Shamari, honored the retired players of the national football team, Bashar Abdullah and Jasem Al Huwaidi for their outstanding football achievements. The honoring came following the announcement of the rankings of the top 10 goal scorers in Arab teams. Based on the list, Bashar came in third place with 75 goals, whereas Jasem Al Huwaidi came in sixth place with 62 goals.
The match ended in favor of Al-Arabi Club who won the Super Cup for the 3rd time in history.
President of the Kuwait Football Association, Sheikh Ahmed Youssef Al-Sabah, stated “ we praise the role of Director General of the Public Authority of Sports, Hamoud Flaiteh Al-Shamari, and stc for sponsoring the Super Cup. Al-Sabah also thanked stc for its continuous support and sponsorship of the Kuwait Football Association and its initiatives throughout the past years.”
On this occasion, Engineer Maziad Alharbi, CEO of stc, stated that he is pleased with the strategic partnership with the Kuwait Football Association that has been strengthened over the last 8 years while praising the diligent efforts made by the KFA president, Sheikh Ahmed Youssef Al-Sabah, and the members of the association, in organizing yet another successful season.

It is also worth noting that the first edition of the Super Cup tournament began in 2008. The tournament brings together the champions of the Premier League and the Amir Cup for a chance to win the Super Cup title. Throughout the tournament’s history, Qadsia SC managed to win the title 6 times, followed by Kuwait SC 5 times, and finally Al-Arabi winning the Super Cup title twice.
