NTC Continues 4G dominance with lead over Ncell

Nepal’s largest telecom operator Nepal Telecom (NTC) continues its solid 4G dominance atop as the rivals telco Ncell trail behind by a fine margin. As per NTA’s latest data, the state-backed telco’s total 4G subscribers have surpassed 6.6 million with the total users approaching 12.9 million till Ashoj.

NTC has maintained its fourth-generation mobile network momentum over its immediate competitor Ncell and Smart Cell.

As per NTA’s Ashoj report, NTC has now a total of 66 lakhs, 34 thousand, and 65 (6,634,065) 4G subscribers. In Bhadra, the company had 62 lakhs, 68 thousand, and 39 (62,68,039 ) subscribers connected to its 4G broadband service. That is, NTC added a steady 3 lakh, 66 thousand, and 26 (3,66,026), new customers, on its 4G network in one month.

Meanwhile, Ncell trails NTC by a slim margin at second. Till Ashoj, Ncell is connecting 60 lakhs, 59 thousand, 4 hundred, and 80 (60,59,480) subscribers. In Bhadra, the Axiata owned company was serving a total of 57 lakhs, 25 thousand, 7 hundred, and 80 (57,25,780). The private telco added a total of 3 lakh, 33 thousand, and 7 hundred (3,33,700) new 4G subscribers in between the two months.

Smart Cell, Nepal’s third-largest telecom company had an unfortunate month as its total 4G subscribers dwindled by 9 thousand, 5 hundred and 90 (9,590). It was serving 1 lakh, 76 thousand, and 6 hundred 86 (1,76,686) till Bhadra. In Ashoj, the numbers reduced to 1 lakh, 67 thousand, and 96 (1,67,096) customers.

The total 4G subscribers in the country have reached 1 crore, 28 lakh, 60 thousand, 1 hundred and 41 (1,28,60,141) till Ashoj as per NTA.
