Tigo El Salvador has completed work to increase mobile data speeds for more than three million Salvadorans in 187 municipalities, the company’s CEO Edgar Grande told La Prensa Grafica.
Coverage of the firm’s LTE-A network now reaches 85% of the population. In addition, the executive noted that its fibre-optic infrastructure now connects 52% of the country’s municipalities. In August 2019 Tigo announced that it would invest USD500 million in digital infrastructure over the next five years, with the main focus being on the expansion of its LTE networks.
