stc launches prostate cancer awareness campaign

Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced the launch of its prostate cancer “Movember” awareness campaign under the because_we_care umbrella that is comprised of several awareness and fitness initiatives that aim to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Considering that November is recognized worldwide as the international prostate awareness month, stc launched its campaign this year in collaboration with Dr. Omar Al Hunaidi. The collaboration includes multiple videos published on stc’s social media channels covering valuable information and tips on ways to possibly prevent prostate cancer.

stc also published several videos highlighting exercises and fitness activities that men can practice and adopt to their daily routines to promote a healthier lifestyle, whether they are at work or out of office. The videos were produced in collaboration with the fitness coach and nutritionist expert, Ali Hussain.

stc indicated in a statement that the initiative falls within the Company’s corporate social responsibility framework with the aim of raising awareness on the disease amongst the members of the local community. The Company stressed, through the campaign, the importance of performing regular check ups to detect prostate cancer at an early stage. Early detection examinations today are much simpler and straightforward than they were in the past and can be performed through a simple blood test.

stc will continue the activities under the campaign until the end of November with the objective of providing valuable tips on prostate cancer through the Company’s social media channels. The campaign also builds on the Company’s continuous efforts to spread awareness and provide valuable information to the public on various health topics that impact the community.

stc expressed that it consistently organizes initiatives that spread awareness on various forms of cancer through campaigns on its social media channels. This stems from stc’s well-established policy to promote health and well-being through humanitarian actions directed towards society. During the month of November, stc stressed the importance of early detection screening tests, while encouraging members of the community to perform these tests on a regular basis to detect the specific form of cancer at an early stage.

In addition to its objective of raising awareness, stc strives to organize and participate in events that enhance its role in supporting the healthcare field, as well as other fields such as education and the environment through various impactful contributions. stc added that it will spare no effort in continuing its various health and awareness campaigns by collaborating with institutions that help spread awareness on important causes that benefit the Kuwaiti society.
