Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, continues its awareness activities under the national campaign “Safe Education” aimed at providing a safe and healthy environment for education. In line with its sponsorship of the campaign, stc visited several local schools in various areas to encourage male and female students to follow all safety protocols. The initiative also included visits to schools of students with learning differences as part of the continuous cooperation between stc and the Kuwaiti Association for Learning Differences (KALD).
The activities were organized by specialist Hadeel Al Abdullah from stc’s Corporate Communications team, and included distributing giveaways to students as a form of encouragement to follow the safety protocols announced through the “Safe Education” campaign. stc’s participation in the campaign stems from the Company’s core values under its CSR framework.
In addition, stc continues its initiative of spreading awareness on valuable information related to the matter through its various social media channels, which contributes to informing followers of healthy and safe practices during the school year. The campaign also consists of stc visiting various schools to spread awareness regarding the important cause.
Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications at stc, said, “Since the early stages of the pandemic, stc has been consistent and keen to support the community through various initiatives and awareness campaigns. The Company has focused on causes that appeal to different groups within the community, sharing valuable information through stc’s social media channels, SMS messages, and the Company’s dedicated digital platforms as a reminder of the health and safety measures that will protect our youth.”
AlJasem added, “With students now returning to school, we are keen to build on our role in supporting the local community, aligning our initiatives with the decisions implemented by the government. It is essential for both students and parents to commit to the precautionary health and safety measures when leaving their homes to foster a healthy educational environment.”
AlJasem concluded, “Based on stc’s values and our CSR framework, we were keen to accept the invitation from the State’s ministries to support their overall objective of protecting and empowering the Kuwaiti society. It is a critical step during this time to ensure that the appropriate safety and health measures are met to minimize the impacts caused by the pandemic, and as stc, we will continue to build on the role we play within the community. In this regard, we will spare no effort in progressively developing our CSR framework by participating and launching initiatives that support the community and assist the nation in overcoming the pandemic.”
It is worth mentioning that stc announced its sponsorship of the national campaign “Safe Education” in early October with the aim of providing a safe and healthy environment for education in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Health, Interior, and Information. The objective of the campaign is to support the Kuwaiti society by focusing on the precautionary health requirements and procedures that need to be followed by male and female students in their return to school. After a break of almost 18 months due to the preventative measures applied to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus, the campaign was launched as a reminder of the necessary safety protocols set by government bodies to manage the start of the new academic school year (2021-2022).
Through its participation, stc also supported the Ministries of Education, Health, Interior, and Information through its leading capabilities and know-how within the telecom sector in effectively reaching customers. The Company launched an SMS campaign with educational and instructive messages to inform parents and students on the different preventative safety measures that should be applied.
