Russia’s NTV-Plus ends 3Q with OTT 205,000 subscribers

NTV Plus, the Russian digital satellite television service from NTV, said that the subscriber base of its OTT platform exceeded the threshold of 205,000 in the third quarter of this year.

According to the Russian pay-TV operator the indicator grew by 2.3% year on year. The whole subscriber base of the operator, including its satellite TV subscribers base, totaled 1.020 million.

The operator of digital and satellite television the share of NTV-Plus TV (OTT) viewers who were also DTH subscribers was 143% higher in Q3 than a year earlier and exceeded 25% of the entire TV audience.

Konstantin Smirnov, Director of NTV-PLUS Digital Products Department said: “The steady growth in the number of online TV users among satellite TV subscribers suggests that we have correctly assessed the audience's needs and created a converged product that meets the expectations of subscribers."

Konstantin added: "By and large, the viewer today does not care at all how the signal was received by his device - from a satellite, from the Network, or even from a general house antenna. Therefore, the priority for us remains the development of functionality that increases the penetration of services and the expansion of the content offer. The appearance of radio channels on the digital platform corresponds to the development strategy of NTV-PLUS.TV as a full-fledged service-aggregator. "

The company informed that in the third quarter of 2021, the service capabilities were also significantly expanded. Subscribers of the NTV-PLUS digital platform got the opportunity not only to watch TV channels but also listen to the radio. In addition to 210 television channels, 23 radio stations have become available to subscribers, united in a separate free package "Radio Channels".
