Mobile network operator (MNO) Libyana, a subsidiary of state holding company the Libyan Post Telecommunications and Information Company (LPTIC), has announced the arrival of equipment which will improve 4G coverage in the municipality of Ghat, located on the Algerian border in the south west of the country.
Libya Herald reports Libyana’s maintenance teams have begun work to improve coverage between Ghat Al-Madinah, Al-Birkey and Tahalah. Additionally, the final phase of connecting fibre-optic cable to both Ghat International Airport and the border crossing with Algeria has been completed. The service improvement is being completed in accordance with the agreement between the LPTIC and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Ramadan Boujnah, to develop and improve the telecommunication infrastructure in the southern region of Libya.
