Nokia and Indosat Mega Media (aka IndosatM2), a subsidiary of telecommunications provider Indosat, have announced that together they have enabled smart Wi-Fi for what they call an improved broadband experience in Indonesia.
Indosat Mega Media is using the Nokia Wi-Fi mesh solution to provide an improved broadband experience to its home and enterprise customers across the country. The solution, including Nokia Wi-Fi Beacon devices, allows IndosatM2 to provide comprehensive coverage throughout a given premises.
IndosatM2 offers the Nokia-enabled broadband services under the brand name GiGAmaze. Nokia says it has set up a customer experience centre at IndosatM2’s office to demonstrate the differentiated experience powered by its Wi-Fi mesh solution.
Nokia says its Wi-Fi mesh technology provides seamless and consistent coverage in all corners of the home or office, which, it adds, ensures improved range and speed compared with a traditional router.
IndosatM2’s subscribers can install and manage their Wi-Fi connection through a mobile application. The Nokia Wi-Fi mesh solution comes with the in-built capability to opt for the Wi-Fi channel with the best speed and least interference.
And, as so often these days, there’s a pandemic angle to this news. As Edi Riyanto, Chief Executive Officer, Indosat Mega Media, points out, there’s a growing dependency on broadband after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic last year. This Wi-Fi mesh solution allows reliable and consistent indoor coverage, “thus,” he says, “enabling our subscribers to leverage best-in-class broadband to carry out their professional and personal tasks without disruption”.
