Etihad WE advances digital roadmap to enhance customer experiences in the UAE

Etihad Water and Electricity (Etihad WE, formerly known as FEWA for Federal Electricity and Water Authority) is moving forward with SAP on the next phase of its digital transformation journey to better serve the UAE’s 1.3m residents.

The company will migrate from the current SAP business suite to S/4HANA on SAP cloud as part of the transformation, taking use of built-in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities. SAP solutions focused on these critical business processes, as well as SAP’s business technology platform, will be used to improve asset management, human resources, and procurement business operations.

Etihad WE will utilise success factors and qualtrics to increase employee satisfaction, intelligent asset management to improve maintenance strategy and operations, SAP Ariba solutions to automate and optimise procurement, SAP Fieldglass to manage third-party suppliers, and other innovative tools. The SAP Fiori modern user interface guarantees consistency across apps and continues to improve productivity.

Etihad WE stated in April 2020 that it was the first organisation in the area to implement a two-tier advanced metering infrastructure system based on SAP technologies.

Owned by the Emirates Investment Authority, Etihad WE, which provides electricity and desalinated water to the Northern Emirates, has already installed 30,000 smart meters, with the goal of installing 350,000 meters in the near future. Customers will be gaining real-time information and proactive alerts on consumption levels.
