MetroNet to bring FTTP to College Station, TX

MetroNet has announced the City of College Station, TX, as the next market in which it will deploy fiber to the premises (FTTP) infrastructure. The service provider says it plans to offer symmetrical gigabit broadband services throughout the city, which is home to Texas A&M University.

The FTTP infrastructure should pass more than 1 million College Station residential households and business locations “in the near term,” according to MetroNet bringing broadband competition to hundreds of communities. College Station is the second build in Texas for MetroNet, which operates in 11 states across the U.S.

“As MetroNet expands to College Station, Bryan-College Station businesses, and our community, will have more choice in providers,” said Glen Brewer, president & CEO of the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce. (Bryan borders College Station to the West.) “We are excited to welcome a new business that will foster economic development opportunities across the community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact that MetroNet will create for businesses and residents in the area.”

“MetroNet is proud to provide the City of College Station with our lightning-fast fiber optic network. The Aggieland neighbors deserve choice, and we look forward to expanding throughout these communities to provide our future-proof services,” said John Cinelli, MetroNet CEO.
