Globe Telecom’s 5G roaming service is now available in the U.S. and Canada, the company announced.. The telco partnered with AT&T in the US and Telus in Canada to offer “the widest 5G network coverage worldwide” for its subscribers.
In addition to the North American territories, Globe said it will soon also start offering 5G roaming in select European countries, including Hungary, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands, in partnership with Vodafone.
With the addition of the four new territories, where 5G service will start in July, Globe said it now has the “widest coverage of 5G roaming in Europe.”
“Together with our customers, we look forward to the day that the world will open once again for travel,” said Coco Domingo, Globe VP for postpaid and international. “For our part, we will fulfill our commitment to continuously innovate with a purpose so our customers will be prepared to roam the world with 5G technology at their fingertips.”
The Ayala-owned telco already offers 5G roaming services in the following European countries: Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Estonia through Telia Company; Italy through Telecom Italia.
