Nepal Telecom and Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited have come together to form Nepal Digital Payments Company Limited, NDPC in short with an aim to contribute to a digital Nepal. For the same, NDPC announced “Namaste Pay”, a digital payment gateway. This application allows users to use the main balance on their smartphones for financial transactions.
Namaste Pay has reportedly become the largest Payment Service Provider in Nepal with NPR 40 Crore paid-up capital.
In contrast to the likes of IME Pay and eSewa, this app has an edge as it incorporates mobile wallets and NTC SIM together, therefore allowing users to use the mobile balance in their SIM much like bank balance for financial transactions.
While the initial testing of the Namaste Pay app has kicked off today, you need to wait some days to download and test it out yourself.
