Nepal Telecom begins 4G service in Upper Mustang

Nepal Telecom has expanded the 4G service in upper Mustang. With this, the people of Upper Mustang will have access to the advanced 4th generation mobile broadband service right on their phones.

Nepal Telecom has been expanding its 4G coverage in remote areas over the last few years. Since 4G’s launch in Kathmandu in 2019, it gradually launched the service countrywide. Over the last few months, Nepal Telecom accelerated further expansion in remote areas in the Dhaulagiri zone’s three districts Parbat, Baglung, and Myagdi.

Two years before, Nepal Telecom launched 2G and 3G services in the upper mustang area.

Nepal Telecom Baglung Office Incharge, Mr. Keshav Sharma stated, “Recently Telecom had been widening the service in Jomsom and Muktinath areas and now Upper Mustang’s Lomanthang and Syangboche have also received the popular 4G cellular service in the area.

He further reiterated Nepal Telecom’s commitment to the latest technology at affordable costs. Reflecting his own joy upon 4G’s launch in the area, he added, “4G service will now provide high-speed internet service to the people of Upper Mustang and Nepal Telecom intends to launch 4G service in all the 5 local levels in an immediate future.”

Before this, Nepal Telecom had been offering a 3G network in Lomanthang and Syangboche. But the recently launched 4G offers a much faster internet speed and brings an overall improvement in carrier service. 4G’s internet speed may theoretically clock around 200 Mbps. It can practically provide speed above 20 Mbps which is far better than 3G. Find the comparison between 3G Vs 4G mobile networks.

While 4G is the latest and the best available around currently, you have to buy particular data packages to make it cheaper. Find all of the data packages in Ntc with their price and select the cost-effective one of your choice.

4G is the successor to the existing 3G network. While 5G evolution is imminent, it will take some time before it becomes mainstream. 4G network offers higher speed internet and enables users to download large files, stream videos, and perform video calls smoothly.

It also allows users to watch HD video which requires an uninterrupted high-speed internet connection.

But in rural areas, 4G has its own benefits. In rural areas, people are mostly deprived of quality broadband service (not having a fiber connection). Connecting with families and relatives or business conversations is limited because of the inadequate internet connection. However, 4G may displace those inconveniences once and for all.
