BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LON:BVC) formed a partnership to sell its virtual telecoms network (NFV) solutions in Europe and Latin America .
Under the deal, BATM’s NFVTime virtualisation technology will be integrated into network product supplier Albis-elcon's new service delivery platform uSphir.
Using BATM's operating system, uSphir can create virtual software-based networks that allow virtualised business services to be set up quickly and that run seamlessly alongside existing networks and hardware.
NFV solutions allow telecoms network providers to run their networks more efficiently by using standard servers instead of proprietary ones and have become central to providing a cloud-based service.
BATM added it will receive a monthly license fee for each endpoint deployed by a customer of Albis-elcon
Albis-elcon has already started to market uSphir to its customer base of telecoms operators, BATM said.
Most of these are in Europe and Latin America, which are new territories for the NFV solution, it added.
Zvi Marom, BATM’s chief executive, added: "We are very pleased to be jointly offering our virtualisation technology with Albis-elcon.
“They have a strong position among tier 1 operators in Europe and Latin America and this partnership will expand our reach into those markets.”
Elsewhere, BATM said PCCW Global has started to roll out its NFVTime solution and this contract is now generating revenues.
House broker Shore capital added that albis-elcon is the major business unit within UET United Electronic Technology AG (XETRA: UET), a publicly-listed technology group based in Eschborn, Germany, that delivers products, solutions and services that help its clients (primarily communication service providers) build and operate better networks with lower energy requirements.
Shore added that albis-elcon counts over 50 leading international communication network providers among its customers including Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telecom Italia, Telefonica and Telekom Austria.
albis-elcon itself says: “With 15 million installed devices in more than 40 countries, the company is well-positioned to deliver software-defined and virtualization enabling gigabit networking for Cloud computing, enterprise access, mobile backhaul and 5G Campus networks.
Shore capital added:”NFVTime, operating on both Arm and Intel architectures offers much promise, in our opinion with material revenue and value creation potential for BATM.
“Today’s announcement is welcome, further illuminating prospects spurred on by industry acceptance, in our opinion.”
