The Telecommunication and Posts Regulatory Authority (ARPT) of the Republic of Guinea and the company Global Voice Group (GVG), a provider of ICT and RegTech solutions, have announced a partnership relating to the deployment of what is described as a leading-edge mobile and digital ecosystem regulation platform in Guinea.
The project encompasses such aspects of regulation as the regulatory management of mobile and digital identities, interconnectivity, data services and mobile money. GVG will be responsible for the deployment of the platform, as well as for the related technical operations, over a five-year period, at the end of which the company will transfer the platform's ownership to the ARPT.
Using big data analytics, GVG monitors, collects and analyses the data originating from crucial economic sectors, and transforms them into actionable information. Its main offices are in Spain and South Africa.
The general purpose of this GVG platform is ambitious: to promote and sustain trust and inclusiveness in the mobile and digital ecosystem for the benefit of all Guineans. To achieve this, the platform implements data-driven regulatory technologies that will guarantee regulatory compliance in this ecosystem, as well as the alignment of the ecosystem with the state's digital development and inclusion guidelines.
The installation of the digital platform will begin on 1 June of this year. The partners suggest that this is the most ambitious project to date for the digitisation of the country’s regulatory tools.
