Ireland’s eir has announced a further expansion of its 5G network, claiming that its in-deployment infrastructure now reaches more than 57% of the population. In a press release regarding the rollout of next generation mobile broadband technology, the company said that it is ‘rapidly expanding’ its 5G footprint across all 26 counties, with its network now spanning 268 towns and cities across the Republic, via 904 sites. Meanwhile, it said its 5G infrastructure is complemented with 4G coverage ‘across 99% of the population of Ireland’.
