Vodafone Spain’s 5G footprint reaches 25 locations

Vodafone Spain has announced that it has extended its 5G network to four new locations, increasing its footprint to a total of 25 markets. The new towns and cities served are Toledo, Castellon de la Plana, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In all cities, Vodafone notes that its 5G coverage reaches more than 50% of the population, while users can expect to experience download speeds of around 1Gbps.

TeleGeography notes that Vodafone launched Non Standalone (NSA) 5G services in 15 cities in June 2019 using the 3.5GHz band, and has worked to slowly increase its footprint ever since. The cellco says that 40 5G-compatible smartphones are currently available in the Spanish market, with handset prices starting at EUR300 (USD355).
