The Latvian incumbent Tet has announced it will officially launch its new and unique à la carte platform Tet+ on March 31.
Commenting on the development, Uldis Tatacuks, Tet’s chairman of the board, said: “Tet is a company that introduces the public to the services of the future – be it interactive TV, optical internet or exchange-linked electricity tariffs. The Tet+ entertainment platform will complement our latest technological solutions, strengthening the company’s position in the TV services industry. New modern TV and start-ups, ultra-fast internet – 10 Gbps – tests will be the new basis for the successful development of the company in the future”.
Inga Alika-Stroda, Tet’s director of entertainment services, added: “We started working on Tet+ two years ago, but the idea of a wider choice of viewers has been discussed before. We see that now more and more viewers want to decide for themselves what, when and where to watch. In addition, many TV channel distributors are finally ready to try this. We believe that together we will be able to create a completely new content enjoyment experience, expanding the viewer’s freedom of choice over time”.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, last month Tet first announced to launch a new streaming entertainment platform, offering TV channels on an à la carte basis, this spring.
