DFin launches fintech platform, sets up Camel Ventures

Digital Finance Holding (DFin Holding) launched a fintech platform that focuses on the next generation of tech-based financial services in Egypt and the region, according to a press release.

DFin also established Camel Ventures, the first venture debt-focused fund across the region. The new arm is currently fundraising and expected to launch in the second quarter of 2021.

The holding entity said its initial subsidiaries will include Shekra, a digital financing platform solution; Optofolio, a robo-advisory and digital wealth management solution; besides the venture debt fund.

DFin is licensed and regulated by the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority. Its affiliated startups portfolio includes fintech supply chain financing platform CAYESH as well as Paynas, which is a cloud platform.

Through Camel Ventures, the entity aims to “complement the ecosystem of venture capital players by providing new financing options that address the actual capital needs of startups,” CEO and Founder of DFin Shehab Marzban commented.

He elaborated, “This newly introduced vehicle also provides an attractive and favorable investment product for potential investors such as financial institutions, banks and family offices.”

Last December, DFin’s Paynas partnered with Visa and state-rund Banque Misr to launch of a digital solution designed to meet the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as contractors, in Egypt.
