Full-service provider Magenta Telekom, which was formed in 2019 from the merger of wireless operator T-Mobile Austria and cableco UPC Austria, says its fifth-generation network is now active at over 1,200 locations across the country.
As a result, 5G coverage now reaches almost 40% of homes and businesses in Austria. The network expansion will continue this year.
Between 2018 and 2021 Magenta is investing around EUR1 billion (USD1.2 billion) in its fixed and mobile infrastructure across the entire country.
