Film lovers whose tastes go beyond the mainstream are the target group of the new German SVOD service Arthaus+ on Amazon Prime Video Channels.
The line-up comprises around 150 titles from the Arthaus stock, including classics, indie cinema, arthouse hits, series and documentaries. Amazon Prime members can subscribe to Arthaus+ at a monthly price of €3.99; a free 14-day trial is available.
Arthaus is backed by the European film production and distribution company Studiocanal, a subsidiary of Canal+ Group, part of French media company Vivendi.
“For Studiocanal, Arthaus+ is a logical step in the development of our versatile portfolio,” said Kalle Friz, CEO of Studiocanal Deutschland, in Berlin. “Arthaus is committed to making high-quality film enjoyment possible across all channels. Offering viewers a carefully curated Amazon Prime Video Channel is just as much a part of this overall experience as the elaborate edition in physical home entertainment or the restored Arthaus Classics revival in the cinema.”
