The World Radiocommunication Seminar (WRS-20) will take place virtually from 30 November to 11 December 2020 with the initial week of free learning-oriented webinars open to non-ITU members for the first time ever.
WRS-20 will cover topics related to spectrum management at national, regional, and global levels. Participants will get an overview of the ITU Radio Regulations as updated by WRC-19, better understand the regulatory framework for terrestrial and space radiocommunication services including frequency allocations, software and tools, and receive an update on the current activities and hot topics being undertaken by ITU Radiocommunication Study Groups.
For more than a century, the Radio Regulations have served as the international treaty governing the global use of radio-frequency spectrum, which has included associated satellite orbits for over fifty years. Understanding how to implement these regulations at the national level is critical to building robust digital ecosystems that promote access to affordable universal next-generation technologies.
The media is invited to register via Zoom to participate in the WRS-20 Plenary Session webinars which will run from Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December. Daily sessions of 3 hours will be held twice a day to accommodate participants located in various time zones.
