First batch graduates from NGN’s programme

NGN Training Center celebrated the graduation of 144 Bahrainis who attended a remote free training course in fundamentals of information security. This comes within the framework of the Center’s goal to prepare and train national cadres following the requirements of the new labor market and the requirements of the 4th industrial revolution, and in the framework of supporting the efforts of Bahrain’s digital transformation, and building a knowledge economy as stipulated in Bahrain Vision 2030.

These 144 graduates represent the first batch of graduates from an ambitious program recently launched by NGN Training Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, which aims to provide free qualitative training for 5,000 Bahrainis in diverse fields of information security.

The training process was carried out using virtual training technology, under the direct supervision of trainers specialized in ICT from NGN Training Center, and with the cooperation and supervision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

The CEO of NGN Training Center, Mr. Yaqoob Al Awadhi, praised the exerted efforts by the graduates of the first batch of the program and to fulfilling the graduation obligations, stressing the keenness of “NGN” to provide the best training services that meet the needs of national cadres to qualify them and facilitate the process of their integration into private-sector facilities, and developing and intensifying the skills and abilities of job seekers and increasing their employment opportunities.

“The initiative to provide free training to thousands of Bahraini youths in fundamentals of information security comes within the framework of advancing our social responsibility towards the Bahraini society, and based on our accumulated experiences that affirms the significance of information security as a basic pillar of digital transformation in various areas of government services, and education, industry, financial services and others. Through this initiative, we focus in particular on spreading awareness of the significance of cybersecurity for institutions, companies, and individuals, in conjunction with the activation of the National Center for Cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Bahrain.” Al Awadhi said

He concluded by saying: “This initiative does not only aim to encourage young people and graduates to study specializations related to information security, but to raise the level of awareness of various segments of citizens of the significance of Internet privacy and maintain the security of their information and data, especially with the expansion of digital government services and financial transfers in light of current conditions.”
