Nepal Telecom has fully replaced copper wires (used for Telephone Services/Internet Network) with optical fiber at Narayan Municipality of Dailekh district. After the upgrade on Kartik 15, Ntc operates its telephone networks with Fiber to the Home (FTTH) fiber connection.

Narayan Municipality has become the first municipality in the whole Karnali Pradesh, to have optical fiber connection in place of old copper wires.

Currently, the Narayan Municipality area has a capacity of 1024 lines FTTH lines. With the upgrade, they have upgrade 415 old lines to FTTH and distributed new 111 lines. So, the number of FTTH users in the municipality has reached 526. As per Ntc, the FTTH network covers the most of the Narayan Municipality area.

NTC says they have a plan to expand FTTH services in the Dullu region of Dailekh in the current year. Nepal Telecom has been expanding FTTH service as well as building necessary infrastructures in city areas and highly populated areas.

Through FTTH service, we could use the high-speed Internet as well as Voice Telephone service through IP technology. Subsequently, Nepal Telecom IPTV (Television service) would also be available in the coming days, which is currently under testing.

FTTH service uses optical fiber in place of copper wire to provide the service in every household. The Triple-play (Voice, Fast Internet, and Video) services, all based on IP Technology, largely attract the customers lately.
