The Russian multiplatform operator Tricolor has signed a multi-year agreement with NBCUniversal Global Distribution.
As a result, its customers will have access to popular and critically acclaimed films from the NBCUniversal portfolio. The agreement gives Tricolor the Russian rights to broadcast these films on its channels, not only via satellite, but also on its OTT Tricolor Cinema and TV app.
Commenting on the development, Arsen Khomutov, Tricolor content director, said: “By signing a multi-year agreement for theatrical titles from NBCUniversal, we have made our movie collection even more diverse and interesting for our clients. It is especially important that we have obtained the rights to show these hit films on our channels online, as this will contribute to the development of our own OTT platform”.
