Netflix has launched a fully localised service in Russia in partnership with National Media Group (NMG).
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, thousands of hours of popular TV series will be dubbed into Russian and supplemented with Russian subtitles.
Russian news agency Intelfax adds that the service will also offer more Russian content, including the Epidemic series, which is already available on Netflix worldwide. In addition to localisation, all payments will now be made in rubles.
The basic Netflix offer will cost R599 (€6.55), standard R799 and premium R999.
Users will also have access to TV series and films in Ultra HD 4K and HDR.
The launch of the localised service has been accompanied by launches of official Netflix accounts aimed at the Russian market on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
Although Netflix launched in Russia in early 2016, it has until now been available on in English and required payment in euros.
