Dplay to launch on Com Hem

Com Hem and Boxer have reached a new agreement with Discovery Networks Sweden that sees the continued distribution of Discovery branded channels.

As part of the agreement cable network Com Hem and the DTT platform Boxer will launch the Dplay service to all customers. It means all subscribers will be able to watch matches from local leagues Allsvenskan and Superettan via their TV box. Dplay also holds exclusive rights for the Olympics.

“We are pleased to present this agreement after a good and constructive dialogue with Discovery Networks which provides a very popular TV content. It is of course gratifying that during an Olympic year we can add Dplay to our strong range,” said a Com Hem spokesperson.

“It feels good that we can offer Com Hem’s and Boxer’s customers our channels and our strong local original productions, quality documentaries and Sweden’s and Europe’s hottest football leagues. The agreement is good for both parties but above all for all viewers and it shows that Com Hem and Boxer appreciate our content,” added a spokesperson for Discovery Networks Sweden.

In addition to the rights to Dplay, Com Hem has also extended the agreement with Discovery Networks Sweden to continue to distribute their other channels, such as Kanal 5, Kanal 9, Kanal 11, Discovery Channel and Eurosport.
