French SVOD platform Salto is expected to launch next Tuesday.
According to Les Echos, a press conference organised for Thursday this week, will announce the France Télévisions-TF1-M6 venture will go live on Tuesday, October 20.
Salto is seen as the first major French project to counter the popularity of Netflix. Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and the Canal+ streaming service MyCanal are already present in the market.
Tests to an initial audience of 300 began in June 2020.
Salto will have an offer spanning films, series, documentaries, youth TV, news, reality TV. It is yet to announce its pricing, but it is expected to be in a range between €5 and €10 per month.
