The Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) has launched a technical committee on digitalization based on a board objective to support members in the adoption of fast-evolving technologies.
The committee aims to ensure that members have the necessary support and resources to adapt to the emerging IR4.0 technologies like artificial intelligence, big data analysis, augmented reality, machine learning, drones and 3D printing, among others.
The launch meeting of this new committee was held virtually earlier this month with the subject matter experts nominated from GDA founding member companies.
During the meeting, Bassam Alshammari from KNPC was elected chairman and Khurram Haleem from Saudi Aramco was elected deputy chair.
