New streaming service WatchLOI will cover Irish football

Ireland’s football league is to be made available through a new streaming service being launched by the Football Association of Ireland and RTÉ Sport, in collaboration with GAAGO.

Football fans will be able to purchase a season pass to WatchLOI for €55 in Ireland and €69 in the rest of the world.

In addition to the SSE Airtricity League selected Extra.ie FAI Cup matches will also be made available.

Coverage will be provided by RTE, including its commentary team, and is expected to feature over 55 matches.

The SSE Airtricity League is set to restart on Friday, 31 July with Derry City v Sligo Rovers the first match streamed on the platform.

Declan McBennett, RTÉ Group Head of Sport, said: “In these uncertain times, when dedicated fans are unable to attend games in large numbers, we are delighted to bring the games directly to them via WatchLOI.

“Working with RTÉ Sport and GAAGO will guarantee that we will have a best-in-class product which SSE Airtricity League supporters will be able to enjoy around the world,” added FAI Commercial & Marketing Director Mark Russell.

Selected matches will also be broadcast by RTE2 and Eir Sport.
