PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) has reportedly completed the deployment of its fibre-optic modernisation programme in Magelang Regency, with around 25 districts and sub-districts covered with 100% full fibre connectivity, further supported by Wi-Fi access points in many public areas.
The telco’s fibre-to-the-home/building (FTTH/B) rollout is designed to support its flagship IndiHome service, with Telkom Consumer Service Director, Siti Choriana noting that reliable infrastructure is needed to support Magelang to develop its potential. IndoTelko notes that to date Telkom has modernised networks in various cities and provinces across Indonesia, creating 228 so-called ‘Modern Broadband’ cities and carrying out upgrades to over 1,200 telephone switching centres.
