The annual production received exceptionally positive reviews from the public orchestrated under stc’s “Ramadan Lives On” campaign.
Considering the current circumstances associated with the global COVID-19 pandemic, stc’s TVC captures the finest moments of the religious holiday while highlighting the importance of cherishing family values and traditions despite the imposed containment measures. While families and friends may not be able to spend this special occasion face-to-face, they can still spread their joy and love from the safety of their homes through online channels.
The creative concept behind the TVC, titled “Celebrate Eid”, personifies Eid Al Fitr as an individual in search of life and joy worldwide to commemorate the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The production commences with a series of short clips tied to the traditional preparations and rituals associated with welcoming the special day that is usually enjoyed with the company of family and friends. The uplifting lyrics entice the listeners to think about the true meaning of this day, with the popular singer AbdulMajeed Abdullah reiterating that Eid celebration should continue even if it is only through audio or video messages. The next series of clips show families connecting with their loved ones online and sharing their joy and greetings with one another, resembling the true essence of family values. In a final message, stc writes that Eid Al Fitr came upon us and found life in hearts longing for joy.
With restrictions imposed by the government to combat COVID-19 and the encouragement of practicing social distancing, stc focused on the role of online channels in staying connected with family and friends.
