Kuwait Telecommunications Company - stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced that it has concluded a deal with Mishref Co-op for the sale of high body temperature detecting thermal cameras to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative comes as one of several innovative solutions released by stc business to assist in the early detection of symptoms that may be related to the virus.
stc released a statement indicating that the sale, led by General Manager of Sales & Account Management at stc, Meshari Al Hamad, will allow Mishref Co-op to set up a pre-screening process to detect high body temperatures in customers, while allowing staff to institute facility protocols when needed. Considering that high fever is one of the known symptoms of contracting COVID-19, the thermal cameras apply a sophisticated algorithm using high thermal sensors to provide high accuracy readings within a matter of seconds. The system then sends out an alert upon detecting an abnormal temperature allowing the authorized personnel to take charge and assess the situation. The cameras can easily be set up at entrances and crowded locations, reading multiple temperatures at a time.
stc indicated that the thermal technology is an effective method of early detection that is currently being used across the world as a precautionary measure to combat the spread of infection. This effective solution can be used by government entities, Co-ops, SMEs, and other organizations as a precautionary step to ensure the health and safety of both employees and customers. The Company is also offering other innovative digital solutions to combat the pandemic that include monitoring bracelets that track movements around the clock and send notifications to assigned Emergency Command Centers.
