HBO Go launches in Indonesia

Ahead of the US launch of the bumper HBO Max in May, WarnerMedia has released its HBO Go service in Indonesia.

This launch adds to the service’s Asian availability in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The service offers users access to popular HBO titles such as Game of Thrones, Chernobyl and Watchmen. It is also the exclusive regional distributor of Hulu’s iconic drama The Handmaid’s Tale.

More local content offered within HBO Go in Indonesia includes HBO Asia Original Series Food Lore, Grisse and Halfworlds.

Along with on-demand functionality, the app allows users to live stream six WarnerMedia Entertainment Network channels. These channels are HBO, HBO Signature, HBO Hits, HBO Family, Cinemas and Red by HBO.

The app, available on iOS and Android, can be cast to big screens via Airplay and Chromecast, while users can also access the service through HBOGoAsia.com.

Clement Schwebig, managing director of WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks, Southeast Asia, Pacific and China, said: “Thanks to our local distribution partners, the app has already got off to a flying start in Indonesia. Through HBO Go, viewers can watch the latest Hollywood blockbuster movies and series – as well as Asian content – anytime, anywhere.”

HBO Go is now available in Indonesia for IDR60,000 (€3.97) per month a with a 7-day free trial.
