Virgin Media has begun 2020 with an upgrade for customers on lower speed tiers to its M100 broadband service.
More than one million Virgin Media customers will receive the boost that will deliver average broadband speeds of 108Mbps – around twice as fast as the UK average.
Over half a million customers will see their speeds double, while others will see a fivefold increase.
There will be no initial fee increase for the upgrade. Customers will receive notification once the upgrade has been completed.
Annie Brooks, Executive Director of Connectivity at Virgin Media, said: “We’re starting 2020 with a broadband bang by rewarding our loyal customers with this free speed upgrade so even more people can experience our ultrafast, future-proof connectivity.”
Once the upgrade to M100 has completed, Virgin Media’s average speed across its entire broadband base will rise to more than 150Mbps.
