Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), has expanded its 5G network to Frankfurt.
A total of 15 5G antennas are currently in operation in the city, supporting maximum download speeds of 1Gbps, with the number set to rise to more than 40 in the next few weeks. The expansion to Frankfurt brings the total number of Telekom 5G cities to seven, following earlier launches in Berlin, Bonn, Darmstadt, Munich, Cologne and Hamburg.
By the end of 2020 the total number of 5G antennas is set to rise to more than 1,500 across more than 20 cities.
