EE's most likely last 5G switch on of the year sees six new towns and cities added to the already lengthy list of places the network covers.
Following last month's switch on, which saw 14 new locations added to the areas to get EE's 5G coverage, the network is expanding its reach once more, with six more locations for the list.
As of today, 5G from EE will now be available in Hull, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Sunderland. High footfall places have also been bolstered with 5G coverage rolling out in London Euston Station, Cardiff Central station, Glasgow’s Bath Street, and Belfast’s Kingspan Stadium.
"We switched on the UK’s first 5G network in May, and this is another milestone towards keeping our customers connected 100 per cent of the time," said Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s consumer division. "We’re leading the way in the UK, with 4G and 5G coverage in more places than any other operator. Adding 5G to more cities and towns – and expanding our 5G coverage in each place – is helping us to always deliver the best mobile experience to our customers.”
Locations with 5G EE coverage now numbers 50, with a target of 70 total by March 2020.
