French OTT platform Molotov announced a distribution deal with Canal Plus’ subsidiary Thema for two pay-TV channel bundles dedicated to African content. Customers can subscribe to the lower-tier ‘Bouquet Africain Basic’ for EUR 4.99/month, with 11 channels included. Priced EUR 11.99/month, Thema’s ‘Bouquet Africain Premium’ offers 25 HD channels and associated on-demand services, such as ‘+ d’Afrique’ and ‘Nollywood TV’.
Molotov said that it plans to expand its range of African content with a ‘Maghreb’ package by the end of the year, and several other foreign-language channels in the near future.
The platform has also announced that viewers will soon benefit from regional versions of its service with access to local channels. Molotov’s users will be able to personalise their choice of region via the platform’s interface or let the service automatically detect their location.
