Russian national operator Rostelecom has expanded its network coverage in several regions of the country. It has completed the first stage of deployment of its GPON in the town of Rzhev in the Tver region, passing almost 2,000 households there.
The operator has started connecting customers to its fibre-optic network in the village of Beryozkino in the Tomsk region, too, making broadband available at up to 500 Mbps in the village of Uyskoye in the Chelyabinsk region.
Rostelecom's broadband subscriber base has grown by 6 percent in the Novosibirsk region this year. The number ofcustomers connected to the fibre-optic network has increased by 12 percent.
