Tele2 Russia reaches 2.1 Gbps in 5G pilot area

Mobile operator Tele2 Russia announced that it reached a speed of 2.1 Gbps in its 5G pilot area, reports Cnews.ru. This was achieved using a test mobile device on the basis of the Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform and WNC equipment.

The maximum speed was reached on the 28 GHz band, with a minimum delay at 9 ms registered.

The tests were carried out on the 5G pilot area on Tverskaya Street in Moscow. The pilot are was launched using equipment from Ericsson on 8 August. The Band7 LTE (2,600 MHz) is used as the anchor frequency in the pilot area.

The pilot area covers the Tverskaya Street from the Kremlin to the Sadovaya Ring. The network works in the NSA (Non-standalone) regime.
