The Polish premier football league Ekstraklasa has announced the launch of its own OTT platform.
In a statement it says that its new streaming website and app Ekstraklasa.TV is going to be a source of revenue for years to come, a new way to reach fans around the world and a brand building tool.
It will offer live match broadcasts with Polish commentaries and be made available in countries not covered by exclusive TV broadcast licences i.e. outside of Poland, where nc+ and TVP have purchased licences, and the Balkans, with Planet Sport’s rights to broadcast matches.
The service, which is compatible with Chromecast and Airplay, will offer pay-per-view matches for €2.99 or on a monthly or season basis for €6.99 or €49.99 respectively, with the first month being offered for free on a try and buy basis.
The platform is being implemented by Ekstraklasa Live Park, which provides all the video content and cooperates with OZ Sports, the platform’s developer.
