Abu Dhabi Media is launching the Middle East’s first Arabic language Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) app to stream both live fights and recorded content to 21 countries in the region.
The UFC Arabia app can be downloaded through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and the service will also be available on the web.
The app will allow fans to track real-time updates of all UFC events and live-stream fights, anytime, anywhere, enabling them to switch from English to Arabic.
“Abu Dhabi Media is keen to serve its audiences by diversified media channels, and reaching out through new online and digital platforms. We are proud of this launch which identifies our efforts to adapt the best practices by providing the best entertaining and useful content,” said Abdulrahman Awadh Al Harthi, executive director of TV, Abu Dhabi Media.
Following a free trial period, the UFC streaming service will be available for a fee of US$4.99 per month or $49.99 a year. The digital subscription will enable customers to access live online UFC events, as well as library content on demand.
The move is part of Abu Dhabi Media’s multi-year broadcast partnership with UFC, agreed in April 2019.
