Open Fiber to invest in Foggia FTTH rollout

The Open Fiber wholesale-only venture of Italian utility giant Enel and state lender CDP announced an investment of around EUR 9 million to bring FTTH to over 45,000 premises in the city of Foggia, the capital of the province of the same name in Apulia region. The company said fibre access is already available to just over 10,000 buildings in the city, with services provided by Vodafone, Wind Tre, Tiscali and Withu on the gigabit network.

The wholesale provider recently announced that it reached the milestone of 5 million connected homes throughout Italy and confirmed plans to bring FTTH connections to around 19.5 million homes and businesses in 271 Italian cities and over 7,000 smaller localities by 2022.
