WorldRemit has entered into a new partnership with Cash Plus to enable digital money transfers to around 2000 cash pickup locations across Morocco.
WorldRemit customers can now use the app to send instant funds to the cash pickup locations from more than 50 countries.
The new partnership also bolsters WorldRemit cash pickup locations in Morocco to nearly 5,000.
WorldRemit business development manager for North Africa AbdelJalil Rahmani said: “We are delighted to partner with Cash Plus, one of the largest payment institutions in Morocco, to add +2000 new cash pickup locations to our network in the country.
“The new partnership connects thousands more remittance receivers living in urban and rural areas to our award-winning money transfer service.
“Transfers sent for cash pickup are instant and we send notifications to both senders and receivers when a transaction has been sent and delivered so there are no wasted journeys.”
The collaboration will benefit nearly three million Moroccans living abroad in transferring funds back home.
According to the World Bank, Morocco received more than $7.3bn in remittances last year.
Last month, WorldRemit introduced a new service that will allow SMBs to pay employees and contractors quickly.
Called WorldRemit for Business, the service will allow SMBs to make fund transfers to 140 countries.
