Hrvatski Telekom makes internet available nationally

Hrvatski Telekom (HT) has made internet services of up to 30Mbps available in rural and less populated parts of Croatia.

By employing a mix of fixed and mobile technologies, optic infrastructure and an optic-based approach, it has already seen over 50,000 customers sign up to its services in these areas.

Commenting on the development, Boris Drilo, member of the management board and chief technology and information officer at HT, said: “The main goal of HT’ activities is to connect everyone with the opportunities the latest technology offers so that everyone can now live better and more easily, creating the basis for a better future. That is why we are constantly investing in the development of a secure and stable network, and use innovative solutions to bring fast internet to every corner of Croatia.

“Our investments already affect the growth of the digitalization index of the economy and society for Croatia. Our investment in the wider availability of high speeds provides the preconditions for introducing the latest smart solutions to homes and businesses and will ultimately result in strengthening the competitiveness of the Croatian economy in the world.”

Looking to the future, HT aims to enable 1.2 million of the country’s 1.5 million households to enjoy speeds of over 30Mbps.

Almost one third of the total number of households (600,000+) will have access to speeds of up to 500Mbps in the coming period.
