Nigerian network provider, VDT, to rollout 4G

Nigerian broadband service,VDT has announced that it’s going to begin offering 4G data plans in 19 states in Nigeria.

The company revealed that it is leveraging on the Bitflux network it built from scratch to provide premium quality 4G broadband experience in the country.

In an article for telecompaper, VDT’s CEO, Abiodun Omonyi says “the roll-out will come in phases, starting with the commercial centres of Nigeria”. He adds that as much as 80 per cent of the country’s largest city, Lagos, is already covered and by 2020, another 18 states are to be as well.

Omonyi continues, “the retail broadband service is being launched to satisfy Nigeria’s insatiable data need [and] will have the same premium quality service for homes and individual subscribers as its business customers.

The service is expected to launch in July 2019.

VDT currently operates in over 30 states in Nigeria spread across the country, providing Broadband services with localised support services nationwide to banks and other financial service institutions in Nigeria.
