Ninety percent of all mobile data traffic on the network of T-Mobile Poland was carried by its LTE system in the first quarter of this year, reports Telko.in citing Thomas Lips, the CTO of the operator. Around 9 percent of the traffic was transferred on the 3G network and less than 1 percent on the GSM network.
According to Lips, re-farming the GSM bands is possible within five or six years.
Video applications generate 43 percent of all data traffic on the T-Mobile network with YouTube the most popular source.T-Mobile Poland currently runs 11,350 base stations, of which 7,550 operate using frequency aggregation. There are 800 base stations supporting four carrier bands.
T-Mobile Poland shares more than 11,200 base stations with Orange Poland.
