Eastern European VOD, over-the-top and online video service MEGOGO has revealed plans to develop a new mobile format of entertainment and educational media resource.
Every day with the new Stories video format, users of the Android and iOS mobile app will be offered the chance to view several categories of short vertical content such as from scientific, education and entertainment genre videos. It will allow the video service users to learn about interesting facts, natural phenomena, discoveries or events, as well as to watch trailers or films segments, TV series or TV shows presented on the platform.
The intended experience is intended to be similar to that with social networks such as Instagram and Snapchat.
Each story will have its own title and the name of the programme or film where the episode or fact was taken from. Subtitles will be displayed on the screen with the sound on/off button can be found in the left corner. In addition there is also capability of instant forwarding to view the full video. At the very top of the screen the app shows tape with tick marks whose number is equal to the number of relevant stories in an available category.
As of now, Stories are divided into thematic categories: technology, history, travel, food, animals, news, series, and films and coming soon there will be videos according to different users’ preferences and interests. The next step in expanding Stories categories will be MEGOGO adding third-party resources.
