Orange Guinea has announced that its LTE service is now available in all areas of the capital city Conakry following an initial launch in the Kaloum district in mid-April. A second phase of deployment will see the network rolled out to other areas of the country, in line with the operator’s contractual obligation to provide coverage to at least 90% of the population.
As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, Orange was awarded a ten-year 4G licence by the country’s regulator in March 2019, making it the first cellco in Guinea to have the capability of launching LTEservices.
