Spanish-backed full-service provider Movistar Peru has announced the launch of 3G and 4G services in Vilcashuaman in the Ayacucho region.
The rollout, which will benefit more than 8,000 residents, is part of the ‘Internet for All’ initiative led by Movistar, Facebook, BID Invest and CAF, which seeks to extend mobile internet access to more than six million citizens in rural and remote areas of the country.
Around 386 towns in the Ayacucho region are expected to be covered by Movistar’s high-speed internet service by the end of 2019.
